Membership and Institutional Participation
Membership of the Saudi Business Council (SBC) reflects a commitment to responsible international cooperation, institutional integrity, and the principles of economic diplomacy.
As an independent, non-profit, private-sector association legally registered in the National Register of Associations (Registro Nacional de Asociaciones) of the Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Spain under Registration Number 633101, SBC maintains a membership framework designed to support long-term institutional cooperation rather than commercial networking.
Membership represents participation in an international community committed to strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through responsible governance, strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange, and implementation-oriented collaboration in support of Saudi Vision 2030.
Purpose of Membership
The purpose of membership is to strengthen the Council's institutional community by bringing together qualified organizations and individuals who share the Council's mission and values.
Membership seeks to:

- Support knowledge exchange
- Foster long-term strategic partnerships

Eligibility
Membership may be considered for qualified applicants whose objectives are compatible with the Council's mission and statutory purposes.
Eligible applicants may include:
- Companies
- Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
- Family businesses
- Professional service firms
- Universities and research institutions
- Foundations
- Business associations
- International organizations
- Development institutions
- Public-interest organizations
- Individual professionals, where appropriate under the Council's membership framework
Submission of an application does not create an entitlement to membership.
Membership Assessment
Applications are reviewed in accordance with the Council's governance framework.
The assessment may consider:

- Professional reputation
- Alignment with the Council's mission
- Commitment to responsible international cooperation
- Ethical standards
- Compliance with applicable legislation
- Capacity to contribute positively to the Council's objectives

Rights of Members
Subject to the Council's Statutes and applicable membership category, members may:
- Participate in Council activities
- Receive institutional communications and publications
- Engage in selected programmes, forums, and events
- Contribute to working groups and consultations where established
- Submit proposals for institutional cooperation
- Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Support the Council's mission through responsible engagement
Membership does not confer authority to represent the Saudi Business Council or to act on its behalf unless expressly authorised in writing.
Responsibilities of Members
Members are expected to:
- Respect the Council's Statutes, policies, and governance framework
- Conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism
- Support responsible international cooperation
- Respect confidentiality where appropriate
- Avoid conflicts of interest
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Protect the reputation of the Council
- Promote respectful and constructive institutional dialogue
Members remain responsible for their own activities, statements, and legal obligations.
Ethics and Professional Conduct
The Saudi Business Council expects all members to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Members should act with:
- Honesty
- Professional integrity

- Respect for institutional mandates
- Transparency

- Responsible leadership
Conduct inconsistent with these principles may result in review under the Council's governance procedures.
Code of Conduct
Members are expected to refrain from activities that could damage the reputation or institutional independence of the Council.
Without limitation, members should not:
- Misrepresent their relationship with SBC
- Suggest governmental endorsement where none exists
- Misuse the Council's name, logo, publications, or intellectual property
- Engage in unlawful or unethical conduct
- Use membership for misleading commercial promotion
- Make statements on behalf of the Council without written authorization
The Council reserves the right to issue additional policies governing the use of its name, trademarks, publications, and institutional identity.
Membership Review
Membership may be reviewed periodically to ensure continued alignment with the Council's mission, governance principles, and statutory objectives.
Reviews may consider:
- Continued institutional engagement
- Compliance with Council policies
- Professional conduct
- Ethical standards
- Organizational developments relevant to membership
The Council may request updated information where appropriate.
Suspension and Termination
The Saudi Business Council reserves the right, in accordance with its Statutes and applicable law, to suspend or terminate membership where there is reasonable cause, including but not limited to:
- Material breach of the Council's Statutes or policies
- Conduct inconsistent with the Council's mission or values
- Misuse of the Council's name, logo, or institutional identity
- Serious reputational risk to the Council
- Provision of false or misleading information
- Unlawful or unethical conduct
Where appropriate, members may be given an opportunity to respond before a final decision is made.
Membership may also cease upon voluntary resignation or dissolution of the member organization.
Governance of Membership
Membership is administered in accordance with the Council's Statutes, governance framework, and applicable legislation governing associations in the Kingdom of Spain.
The Council reserves the right to establish membership categories, eligibility requirements, review procedures, and administrative policies consistent with its statutory purposes and institutional development.
Membership decisions are made independently and in the best interests of the Council's mission.

As an independent association, SBC complements the work of relevant Saudi and international institutions while fully respecting their legal mandates, governance frameworks, and institutional responsibilities.
The Saudi Business Council (SBC) is an independent, non-profit, private-sector association legally registered in the National Register of Associations (Registro Nacional de Asociaciones) of the Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Spain under Registration Number 633101 and NIF G26608752.
SBC is not a governmental authority, chamber of commerce, regulator, licensing body, investment authority, diplomatic mission, or public institution.
Membership does not create any governmental status, regulatory authority, diplomatic privilege, commercial guarantee, or entitlement to representation before public authorities.
Unless expressly authorized in writing for a specific purpose, no member may represent the Saudi Business Council, the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, or any sovereign institution.

The Saudi Business Council believes that membership is founded upon shared responsibility rather than shared interests alone.
